Sumedha Energy Limited, in collaboration with NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL), recently carried out a two-day free medical outreach at the Primary Health Centre in Okoroette, Eastern Obolo LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
The program, part of the company’s Community Development Programme, provided medical checkups, treatment, counselling, and prescriptions to over 300 beneficiaries, most of whom were elderly residents. Food items and relief materials were also distributed.
Community leaders and beneficiaries described the initiative as timely and impactful, praising the organizers for bringing healthcare directly to vulnerable groups who often cannot afford routine hospital visits. The outreach was also commended by medical professionals for addressing critical health needs such as hypertension diagnosis and treatment.
This initiative adds to Sumedha Energy’s growing portfolio of community development projects, including educational empowerment, youth skills acquisition, and infrastructure support.
